Why Daisies & Denim

For those of you who know me, you know that I am not a writer by any stretch of the imagination.  However, I went to a workshop this morning and I learned that this is a great way to be able to share your thoughts and ideas with others all around the world.  I'm not sure that anyone would like to know what is really going on in my mind (half the time I don't understand it myself!) but I thought this might be a nice way to start out.

So why Daisies & Denim?  To be truthful, I just like the sound of it but it also illustrates some of the dreams I have.

One day soon I hope to have a flower farm where I can sell at the local farmers market and maybe a few florist.  That's the daisy part.  Daisies remind me of the country life - outdoor living, sunshine, clean air, childhood memories and just a simple uncomplicated life.  Sounds good to me.

As for the denim, well that is where my love of horses comes into play.  I have had a horse on and off most of my life.  It started with my chestnut mare called Jenny when I was 10 years old and now the horse in my life (another chestnut) is a gelding called AppleJack.

So, I'm living on an old tobacco farm ("bacca" - as they call it here in the south) and dreaming about one day looking out my back window into the field of all kinds of flowers and beyond them, the horses.  If God is willing, I hope to be able to one day work with the local equine rescue organization and also sponsor orphans and oppressed children around the world.

But for now, it is just me and my small four-legged furry friends.  I'll introduce them on my next blog.  Until then... dreams don't cost anything and they don't have an expiration date.  Keep dreaming.
